What is an Insurance Loss Adjuster?

  • "Private Investigators" of the Insurance Industry.
  • Independent professional or appointed by the insurance company.
  • Duties are to investigate, assess/adjust and estimate the total cost of a loss or damage.
  • Recommendations and settlement amount.
  • Must be corporation and licensed by the Insurance Regulator (BNM).
  • Charge professional fees/services.
  • Member of the Association of Malaysian Loss Adjusters (AMLA).
  • Adjusters must be qualified, experienced, good character (integrity), fair and impartial.
  • Minimum Paid Up Capital - RM150,000.
